Why are there installable and non-installable versions?

When you access our QuotePower-Web service, some Java Applet ought to be installed to your system. If you are accessing through your company's network and there is restriction on installing program on your PC, you have to choose "non-installable" version. For best performance and stability, you are recommended to choose "installable" version.

How can I view more than one stock's intra-day chart?

In intra-day chart input box, you can enter 2 to 4 stock codes separated by a comma ",". E.g. if you want to view Cheung Kong, Hutchison, Tom.com and CKI Holdings' intra-day charts, you can enter [1,13,8001,1038] and press [enter].

How can I resume to view one stock's intra-day chart only?

In intra-day chart input box, you just enter a comma "," that can restore to one intra-day chart only.

What kinds of CHARTS do you have and do you have CHARTS for Hang Seng Index and Futures, Forex, World Indices etc.?

We have the following types of analytical tools : Moving Average, Bollinger Path, Volume, Turnover, RSI, MACD, OBV, DMI, Stochastic, William's %R, H-L-C, Line Chart, Candle Stick and Col-Price Chart.

And the following types of charts:

  • Intraday chart for HK stocks
  • Price vs. Volume chart for HK stocks
  • Historical Daily, Weekly, and Monthly charts for HK stocks
  • 1 Minute, 5 Minute, 10 Minute and 60 Minute charts for all stock codes, Hand Seng Index and Hang Seng Future.
  • Intraday chart for Hang Seng Index and Futures
  • Historical Daily, Weekly, and Monthly charts for Hang Seng Index and Futures
  • Historical Daily, Weekly, and Monthly charts for Forex and World Indices.
How can I see the DAILY CHARTS for HSI, HFI, Forex and Indices?

Press our 'Symbol Directory' button after logging in, you can find Indices, Futures, Forex, etc. are sorted into CODES, such as 'HSI' stands for Hang Seng Index, 'HFI' for Hang Seng Index Futures, 'X.JPY' for Japanese Yen, 'I.DJIA' for Dow Jones Industrial Average, etc. All these codes can be used in both 'Portfolio' page and 'Chart Analysis' page.

When you go to our 'Portfolio' page, you can type 'HSI', 'X.JPY' etc. into the 25 spaces after you press 'Quote Box' and then see their pricing.

Also when you go to our 'Chart Analysis' page, you can again type 'HSI', 'I.DJIA' etc. into the space at the top left-hand corner where you usually type in your stock number, and you'll be able to see different charts for 'HSI' and 'I.DJIA' respectively.

Can I adjust the parameters for the different study charts?
YES, you are free to set your own parameters for Simple Moving Average, RSI, MACD and Stochastics charts. When you press the yellow button with a hammer and screwdriver on our 'Chart Analysis' page, you will be able to set the parameters yourself for the above study tools.
Can I save the stocks I have typed in my Portfolio?
YES, the stocks that you typed are automatically saved in the Portfolio.
How can I retrieve the short-selling information?
First choose Financial News and HKEX, and then from pull-down menu, choose Exchange. You can retrieve the short-selling information. Half day's short-selling information will be released at around 1:00pm, and whole day's short-selling information will be released at around 5:00pm.
How many stocks I can put in my own portfolio?

Do you have PRICE ALERT function and how does it work?

YES. You can set your target price on our 'Alert' page and when the price hits your target, you will hear a short sharp sound 'Ding' (as long as your PC has a sound card and you have set the QuotePower-Web to enable sound). At the same time, a box showing the stock at your target price will pop up to alert you.

Can I see the name of brokers in the Bid/Ask Broker Queues?

YES. You can point your mouse at the broker number in the Bid/Ask Broker Queue and then press the left button of your mouse to see the broker name. You can even double-click the button to go to the 'Broker Search' page to see the bid and ask queues of the specific broker number.

How can I retrieve listed companies' announcement?

For all listed companies' announcement or news released from HKEX, you can retrieve from Financial News.

To find the news from the 'Financial News' page, first go to the 'Financial News' page and type in the stock number and hit [ENTER], then click on the 'SEHK' button and click on the 'Filtered by Company' checkbox. What you have done is you choose to show only the SEHK news related to the particular stock number that you typed. (This works in most cases, but sometimes some news may not be shown due to either failure of those listed companies to submit such news to the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong).

Why can't I see the 'Financial/Symbol Directory' page?
When you are using 'QuotePower-Web', you need to keep the previous window 'Please wait while loading QuotePower-Web Full version .... current page.' open; if you switch to other windows, you won't be able to see the 'Financial' or 'Symbol Directory' pages when you click on them.
Do you have PRINT function?

YES, you can print news stories, intraday or historical charts to your local printer.

For QuotePower-Web browser version, however, some printer drivers are not compatible with 'Internet Explorer 4.0'; users can upgrade their I.E. 4.0 to 5.0 or use Netscape browser version 4.5 or above.

Note: If you use Netscape browser version 4.5 or above, when you press the 'print' button, a 'Java Security' window will pop up and you need to click 'Grant' in order to print. If you use Internet Explorer, no such 'Java Security' box will be shown. However, if 'Security' (inside Internet Options) has been set to 'High', the print function will not work as well. (please set the 'Security' level to medium/low)

Why can't I print out full page of chartings?

Please ensure your printer's paper orientation is "Landscape" : Once you press the printer icon, please choose "Content" and adjust the paper orientation to "Landscape".
