Requirements

In order to use QuotePower-Web, you need to have a personal computer with the following minimum and recommended environment:

Requirements for QuotePower-Web HK 6.0 or above

Supported Operating Systems

  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional (Service Pack 2 or above versions)
Supported Browsers
  • Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2 or above versions
  • Netscape Navigator 7.1 or above

  • Microsoft (R) VM for Java (MSVM) build 3810 or above
  • JavaTM Plug-in 1.4.0 or above for Windows 2000/XP

Firewall / Proxy Server Settings

You have the options to set QPI-Web to connect to QuotePower's servers using any one of the following methods:

  • Direct Connection
  • Firewall Only
  • Use Proxies

If your computer is behind a firewall or proxy server, you can try our Connectivity Test to see if your computer can connect to QuotePower's server and receive the quotes at an acceptable speed.

*Currently, QPI-Web has been tested to support MS Proxy and ISA Proxy Server without user authentication or with "Basic" user authentication.
Anti-Virus Program

Norton AntiVirus 2000
It is observed that Norton Anti-Virus 2000 generates a virus alert when extracting a cab file, therefore, to load QuotePower-Web version 4.2 or above, please use either one of the following methods:

  • Login with QPI-Web (non-pluggin version)
  • Use Netscape browser to load QPI-Web
  • Upgrade your Norton Anti-Virus 2000
  • Choose 'Ignore the problem and Continue' whenever the alert pops up

Remarks

You can check your Java version by enabling Java console in your Internet Explorer. Please follow the steps below:

  1. From Internet Explorer, choose "Tools" on the menu bar
  2. Choose "Internet Options..."
  3. Click the "Advanced" tab
  4. Check "Java console enabled (requires restart)"
  5. Click "OK" and close all Internet Explorer
  6. Open Internet Explorer again
  7. Choose "View" and Click "Java console"
  8. Another window will pop-up and the Java version will be stated on the top of that window

If the Java version is not Microsoft (R) VM for Java, 5.0 Release 5.0.0.3167 or above, please upgrade the Java VM of your system at http://java.sun.com/getjava/download.html or contact us at (852) 2111 7772.
