| Will
the financial information be updated itself? |
| |
By default, the financial information will only
be updated when you switch to a new page or when you choose "Refresh".
This is for those users who wish to save GPRS cost. Alternatively,
users are given an option to turn on data streaming by selecting
"Streaming On" from the main menu of the application.
To turn off streaming again, select "Streaming Off' from the
main menu.
|

subscription period of your existing QPI-Mobile FX or QPI-Combo
FX service package. For example, if you subscribe the QPI-Mobile
FX "Basic" package on Nov 20, you can then add the
"SMS Alert 100" package on Nov 25 (any time after
Nov 20) for which the end date of your SMS Alert service will be
Dec 19 for the month of Nov/Dec. In this example, you will still
be charged a full monthly service of HK$70 on Nov 25. You
next bill for the SMS Alert service will be on or before
Dec 19 with a fee of HK$70. To determine the Start/End Dates

| Where
can I set the mobile number of my handset for receiving the short
messages (SMS)? |
| |
You need to set the mobile number for receiving
the short messages upon new subscription of the SMS Alert
service. If you need to change the number afterwards, you can do
so by visiting our Main WAP site.
|
| What
mobile handset models does the service support? |
| |
Currently, most mobile handsets support receiving
short messages. You can check your handset's user manual for details.
|
| Can
I view the messages in Chinese? |
| |
You need to set the language of the message upon
new subscription of the SMS Alert service.
It will be the language of the messages that you received when a
price limit is reached. However, you need to make sure that your
handset supports the desired language. Currently, we offer English,
Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese languages.
If you need to change the language afterwards,
you can do so by visiting our Main WAP site.
|
|
Is there a user manual I could use to help me get familiar with the
service? |
| |
We provide a user manual for using QPI-Mobile
FX on most common mobile handsets. Simply go to the Demo
& Guide page of the QPI-Mobile FX service and click
on User Manual.
|
| What
kind of instruments can I set the alert on and how? |
| |
You can set the alert on all instruments in 'World
Spot', 'Asian Spot', 'World Crosses', 'HKD Crosses', 'SGD Crosses',
and 'Bullion' pages. For instructions on how to set up the alert
limits, simply go to the Demo & Guide page of the QPI-Mobile
FX service and click on User Manual.
|
| What
are the fields that I can set the alert on? |
| |
You can set the "BID", "ASK",
"<" (less than), ">" (greater than), and
the "limit" price of an instrument. For example, if you
set the alert to "EUR/USD", "BID", ">",
"1.158", a short message will be send to you once EUR/USD
is at or over 1.158.
|
| Is
there a limit on the number of alerts I can set? |
| |
Yes, currently, the maximum number of alerts you
can set is 10.
|
| What
happen when the limit I set is reached? |
| |
When the limit is reached, an SMS message will be
sent to your designated mobile phone number.
|
| I
know the the limit is reached but I still have not received any SMS
message? |
| |
There may be different reasons an SMS message could
not reach your handset such as the following:
- The message box of the recipient's mobile phone
is full
- The recipient's mobile service operator does
not support SMS service
- The recipient's mobile phone number is invalid
or is not a local number, only Hong Kong phone number is accepted
- The message is lost or delayed at the mobile
operator's system due to unknown reason
- The recipient turns off the mobile
- The recipient is not in Hong Kong when the short
message is sent out
- The mobile service operator's SMS system is out
of order at the time the short message is sent out
- You have used up all your messages in your service
package
QPI will try its best to get the alert message to
reach your handset but could not guarantee its delivery due to all
these reasons above.
|
| If
I do not receive the SMS alert message, will you still count the message
towards my service package? |
| |
All SMS messages sent from QPI to your handset are
chargeable regardless of whether you receives them on your handset
or not. QPI reserves the rights to make the final decision on charging
the SMS messages.
|
| How
many SMS messages will I receive for each price limit I set? |
| |
The SMS alert message will be sent to you once only
when a price limit is reached. The price limit setting is then considered
fired and no further message will be sent again.
|
| How
do I know which limits have been reached on the QPI-Mobile FX application? |
| |
If you go to the 'Set Alert' page, you will see
a strike-through line on the alert row of those where the limit
is reached. You can then delete the row and set a new price limit
again.
|
| Can
I modify or delete the alert setting on my 'Set Alert' list? |
| |
Yes, you can modify or delete an alert row on the
list. Please refer to the 'User Manual' for different handset operations
on how to modify or delete the alert rows.
|
| Do
I need to turn on the QPI-Mobile FX for the SMS alert to work? |
| |
No, once the alert limits are set via QPI-Mobile
FX, it will be saved on our server. SMS alert messages will
be sent to your handset without your QPI-Mobile FX service
turned on.
|
| Can
I receive SMS alert messages when I am in other countries? |
| |
Some mobile network operator provides SMS roaming
services. Please refer to your mobile network operator for SMS messages
sending to other countries.
|
| Do
I get charged for receiving SMS alert messages by my mobile network
operator? |
| |
No, the cost of messages are already included in
your SMS Alert service packages. However, please consult
your mobile network operator if there will be any additional SMS
charges.
|
| Is
there a limit on how many SMS alert messages I can receive? |
| |

have subscribed. For example, if you subscribe to the "SMS
Alert 100" package, you could only receive a maximum of
100 SMS messages during your billing month. Once you have received
100 messages, no more messages can be sent to your handset even
new alert limits are reached. If you wish to continue receiving
alert messages for the remaining period of your billing month, you
can call our Customer Service Hotline to top-up your existing
SMS Alert package.
|

do I receive a "Reminder" SMS message? |

package, a reminder will be sent to you via SMS and e-mail. If you
wish to continue receiving alert messages for the remaining period
of your monthly subscription cycle, you can call our Customer
Service Hotline to top-up your existing SMS Alert package.
